How is the overall band rounded?
IELTS averages your four component bands and rounds to the nearest whole or half band. The four skills are weighted equally.
- ›Average ends in .25 → rounds up to next half band (e.g. 6.25 → 6.5)
- ›Average ends in .75 → rounds up to next whole band (e.g. 6.75 → 7.0)
- ›Anything below .25 or between .25–.75 rounds down
